    Giorgio Ascoli, University Professor in the Department of Bioengineering, will receive the Beck Family Medal at the Faculty Awards Reception on May 11 at 4:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Lobby. The Beck Family Medal is presented to faculty members whose contributions represent groundbreaking advances in their fields.

    A study led by bioengineering professor Giorgio Ascoli has received $250,000 in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. The project will make use of a massive open-source repository called Hippocampome maintained by Ascoli’s lab.

    Holly Matto, PhD, LCSW-C is a Professor in the Department of Social Work in the College of Public Health at Mason. Dr. Matto values interdisciplinary collaborations and has established research relationships with colleagues in social work, bioengineering, mathematics, visual and performing arts and others at Mason that have resulted in grant-funded projects.
