Research Administration and Support

The College of Engineering and Computing’s research administration, in collaboration with the Office of Sponsored Programs, supports the pre- and post-award administrative activities of the College and its centers, from the initial proposal submission to final award close out.

Pre-Award Support

Our pre-award team is here to support you throughout the entire proposal development process. We provide assistance with:

  • Review and support submission for Letter of Intent (LOI), Whitepaper, or other pre-proposal requests

  • Reviewing Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs)

  • Budget and budget justification development

  • Interpreting sponsor guidelines

  • Ensuring compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements

  • Preparing for and navigating post-submission processes

  • Just-In-Time (JIT) requests and other sponsor communications

Post-Award Support

The post-award team provides essential support to ensure effective management of your sponsored projects. We assist with:

  • Monthly financial reconciliations and expenditure monitoring

  • Award management, including: Prior approval requests, No-Cost Extensions (NCE), Continuation and incremental funding

  • Payroll certification

  • Participant support requests

  • Academic Year (AY) and Summer salary allocations

  • Tuition budgeting and processing

  • Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) appointments, stipends, and tuition coordination
