About the Program

This master’s degree program is offered by the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Infrastructure Engineering at Mason. Students who enroll in this master’s program receive instruction in civil engineering and design with a technical approach. Students who majored in civil and infrastructure engineering and other related undergraduate degrees may apply to this program. The MS also serves as a foundation for doctoral study in civil engineering, as well as for additional graduate studies in architecture, law, business, economics, finance, and public policy and administration.

Program Opportunities

Mason’s MS degree program in civil and infrastructure engineering differs from other universities by providing students with creative opportunities using design and technology. Our location near the D.C. metropolitan area puts graduates at an advantage for careers in the government sector and private companies. This program is eligible for part-time and full-time enrollment.

The program involves focused coursework in any of the five emphasis areas offered in the department. These include:
